Izumo Kagura Odochi Kagura: Izumo City

"Odochi Kagura" in Taisha-cho, Izumo City has a history of more than 300 years, including powerful and simple works and elements of Noh dance. Since we have handed down not only adult dances but also children's dances and girls' dances, as well as performances that cannot be seen anywhere else, such as the "mountain god" based on the Amano-Iwato legend and the "five lines" based on the Yinyang Gogura, amateurs nationwide. It is said to be the forerunner of Kagura and children's Kagura, and is said to be a valuable Kagura in tracing the history of Izumo Kagura. Starting with the Ara Shrine annual festival held every October at the local Odochi Ara Shrine, we are also energetically engaged in succession and dissemination activities such as dedication at the Izumo Taisha annual festival and invited performances in various parts of Japan and abroad. ..
